Elementary Education at Our Savior Lutheran School

At Our Savior Lutheran School, elementary education goes beyond academics—it’s about nurturing the whole child in a Christ-centered environment. From daily devotions and weekly chapel services to hands-on learning and personalized attention, we strive to equip students with the knowledge, faith, and skills they need for every stage of life. With low student-to-teacher ratios and caring, certified educators, each child receives the individualized support they need to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

Our program emphasizes respect, compassion, and teamwork as students learn to see themselves and others as unique, forgiven children of God. Opportunities for multi-grade interaction, off-campus experiences, and access to technology tools like Chromebooks and Smart Boards enrich the learning process. Whether it’s a library visit to the Meramec Valley Branch next door or time spent in outdoor recess and gym time, OSL fosters a well-rounded education rooted in academic excellence and the love of Christ. Here, your family becomes part of the OSL family and God’s family, walking together in faith and learning.

Animal Explorers

In our first and second grade classroom, dive into the exciting world of animals through hands-on, creative exploration. Each student selects an animal to research, learning to gather facts and write a detailed report about its unique traits.

The adventure continues as students bring their animals to life through clay modeling, combining art and science in a fun, hands-on project. This creative process deepens their understanding while fostering curiosity and artistic expression.

Maps to Markets

Elementary students dive deep into city planning, civics, and business with a maps to markets project. We begin by studying maps, landforms, and oceans before designing and building a 3D city complete with roads, businesses, and parks. Later, students apply this knowledge to create their own businesses, crafting business cards, signs, and learning about profits, losses, needs, and wants.

Kindergarteners then purchase products or services using play money, providing real-world experience in managing transactions and financial literacy.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you into the OSL family. It would be our privilege to partner with you to achieve a successful and rewarding educational experience for you and your child.
